The San Diego Area is saddened to report the death of Officer Stephen C. Hershey, ID 17886, who passed away on March 3, 2018, at the age of 47, after a courageous battle with cancer. Steve is married with four children; wife Amy, sons Christopher (16 y/o), Micah (5 y/o) and daughters Emma (14 y/o) and Isabella (11 y/o).

Steve served in the Army from 1989 to 1993. He started the Academy in November 22, 2004 and was assigned to the West Los Angeles Area from April 22, 2005 until January 30, 2007. He reported to San Diego Area on January 31, 2007. He worked the road and then was later assigned as the Area’s LAN/CPVE coordinator. Steve is a sole provider for his family and recently purchased a home in Escondido.
